Small and Mighty, Course 3 of The Founder’s Evolution
Sound familiar?

“What’s wrong with these people?”

You didn’t start this to manage people. You started it to do great work.

Then the great work brought more clients, the clients brought more work, and you did the smart thing: you hired help. An assistant. Someone for delivery. Then another.

Each hire was supposed to make your life easier. Instead:

  • Your mornings get eaten by emails, text messages, Slack messages, phone calls, questions, fires, and all sorts of other nonsense
  • Your evenings go to redoing work that should have been done right
  • You catch mistakes that were completely preventable
  • You explain the same thing for the third time this week

The work left your hands. It never left your head.

The hidden cost

Working harder than ever, and still not making any money

Here’s the math nobody warned you about.

You now have to sell four times as much just to cover payroll, and you don’t keep a dime of it.

So you work longer. You sell harder. You cover every gap your team leaves. Payroll clears, and somehow there’s still nothing left for you.

Meanwhile the other costs pile up. Weekends disappear. Vacations become working vacations. Quality slips with the clients who trusted you most. And the people at home get whatever is left after the team takes the rest.

Late at night, the question shifts from “What’s wrong with these people?” to something worse:

“Is this even worth it?”

Rachel’s story

Ten thousand dollars a month, gone in one weekend

Rachel ran a talent search firm in Nashville. In a few years she had tripled her revenue and was closing in on her first million-dollar year.

As her client list grew, she hired an assistant, then a recruiter, then a second, then a third. Each hire was supposed to free her up. Instead, they didn’t match her pace, forgot simple steps, and followed processes without thinking.

Then, one Friday evening, two of her oldest clients walked. A “courtesy call” from one. A “Dear John” email from the other two hours later. She cancelled a trip she’d been looking forward to for months and spent the whole weekend cleaning up the mess, only to find every account had problems.

Monday morning, lying in bed, one thought consumed her: “What’s wrong with these people?”

Nothing was wrong with them. Rachel was trying to win like a solo founder while running a team. She didn’t need to quit, reinvent the business, or settle for less. She needed the right people, managed the right way.

So that’s what we built. She found the one person who didn’t fit the role and helped him land somewhere better. She hired the right kind of person to replace him. She set up a weekly team meeting and short morning check-ins. Slowly at first, and then all of a sudden, the team hit its stride. The dropped balls stopped. The constant barrage of texts, calls, and interruptions disappeared.

The transformation

One simple change. Everything else follows.

  • Your team becomes leverage instead of stress
  • You work 30 to 50 hours a week, not 60 to 80
  • You take real vacations, not working vacations
  • Your time goes to the work that lights you up
  • Problems stop feeling like a disease and start feeling like the next thing to solve

It won’t be perfect. It will be sustainable.

Revenue doubled in a year, working fewer hours than the year before. She took a trip to Australia with her husband and didn’t bring her laptop. Her team handled everything.
RACHEL, TALENT SEARCH FIRM, NASHVILLE
She tried to grow her way out of the chaos, and every hire made it worse. Once she learned to manage the team she had, her 80-hour weeks became 30-hour weeks and her working vacations became real ones.

Questions

Before you join

Is this course right for me?

If you have a small team (roughly 5 to 15 people, or your first few hires) and managing them is eating your week, yes.

If you’re still doing it all yourself, start with Going Full-Time. If you’re leading more than 15 people, Just Right is built for you.

Still not sure? Take the quiz, or plan on the Level 3 Gold Pack: Going Full-Time, Small and Mighty, Just Right, and Founder’s Legacy for $594 when doors open.

Do I have to watch every lesson?

No. Each section stands on its own. Skim what you already do well and go deep where you’re stuck.

How long do I have access?

Your access isn’t on a timer. There are no deadlines and no cohort dates. Go at your own pace, rewatch any lesson, and come back whenever your team hits a new challenge.

Do I need to read the book first?

No. The book is the map of the whole founder journey. This course is the step-by-step playbook for this level. They work well together, but neither requires the other.

Your next move

You don’t need a different team. You need a different playbook.

Become the leader your team needs, and get back to the work you started this for.
